Gliding for independent-minded pilots
Mollis Soaring offers students, private owners and club pilots a high degree of flexibility and independence. Thanks to our manageable size, we can support students individually on their way to becoming pilots. Private owners value the relaxed and collegiate atmosphere, ambitious cross-country flights of more than 1,000 km, flown solo or as a pair, and of course the generous runway, which offers a high level of safety. Club pilots benefit from a well-maintained, modern fleet for everything from local flights to serious cross-country flying.
We actively encourage flying in two-seaters. For less experienced pilots in particular, this creates opportunities to fly with our experts, gain confidence and steadily expand their range. Our Arcus M two-seater, acquired in 2024 and capable of self-launching, is among the best gliders on the market. Use of this flagship aircraft is included in the membership fee. Our DG-1000 training and performance two-seater is also available to our pilots outside training hours.
As a member of the sggl, you benefit from a warm and welcoming atmosphere whatever your level of experience. Students and newcomers especially gain from the knowledge of our top pilots, who are happy to take them along on cross-country flights.
Like any club, the sggl thrives on the commitment of its members. On Saturdays, you will occasionally take responsibility as flight marshal to help ensure safe training operations. In winter, we maintain and service our aircraft in our own workshop, which is also available to private owners.
Once a month, we also operate our winch. This gives students and pilots the opportunity to practise take-offs and landings at comparatively low cost.
Welcome to a club with character.
Who is who?
Our club only functions thanks to the tremendous dedication of our board and our members. Everyone works on a voluntary basis, enabling us to offer affordable flight training and flight operations.
