Safety, comfort and independence
In 2025, SG Glarus made targeted investments in infrastructure for pilots with self-launchers and completely asphalted the apron between the hangar and the runway.
The new, fully asphalted apron makes it much easier to assemble and disassemble gliders and offers sufficient space for lining up before take-off – ideal conditions for large gliding events.
The runway at Mollis Airfield (1800 × 40 m), which was newly renovated in 2025, ensures a high level of safety during take-off and landing, especially for heavy self-launchers.
Thanks to the ideal location of the hangar right at the start of the runway, there is no need for long taxiing and pushing distances.
The day ends in the cool shade of the Glärnisch – with everyone sharing their experiences of the day.
Become part of an ambitious team of experienced cross-country pilots who often occupy the top spots on WeGlide. Our flights often take us far to the east, almost as far as Vienna, or west to the south of France. Share your experiences and benefit from the wealth of experience of our club.
The hangar offers a modern office with kitchen, parking spaces for summer and winter, and a well-equipped and heated workshop.
The sggl stands for a friendly and relaxed atmosphere without unnecessary pressure to perform. Safety is our top priority.
