With the proven ASK-21, we have the ideal training aircraft, while our experience and manageable club size ensure close personal support throughout your training.

Mollis offers excellent conditions for learning to fly. Situated at the foot of the Glarus Alps, the airfield combines a long paved runway, open airspace and reliable local soaring conditions. The setting is spectacular, the journey from Zurich is straightforward and the atmosphere on site is welcoming and down to earth. If you would like to see the club in action, come by on a Saturday or get in touch to arrange a first flight.

How training works

Gliding training consists of a practical and a theoretical part and usually takes around one to two years, depending on your availability and progress. You complete the practical training with our instructors in our modern two-seater training aircraft and, after the unforgettable moment of your first solo, continue building experience in our single-seaters.

The theory course is generally held during the winter months and prepares you for the written examination. It covers the full range of subjects required for the licence, including aviation law, general aircraft knowledge, flight performance and planning, human performance, meteorology, navigation, operating procedures and the principles of flight.

Once you have passed the theory exam and completed the practical syllabus, you finish your training with the practical test.
