Training, touring and performance

The aircraft a pilot may fly depends on their level of training and experience.

Training always begins in the DG-1000 two-seater with a flight instructor. Once you have built up enough experience, you complete your first supervised solo flights and then move on to our single-seat DG-300.

We are the only club in the greater Zurich area to operate a launch winch once a month. This gives our pilots and students access to distinctive training at attractive cost. We also offer winch training to other clubs.

After completing your training, you continue building experience in our easy-to-fly club-class gliders.

You can then convert to the more powerful DG-800 in the 18-metre class. This high-performance aircraft is ideal for long cross-country flights at strong average speeds.

Our Arcus M two-seater, acquired in 2024, is one of the most capable two-seaters on the market. In self-launching form it offers exceptional flexibility and independence, whether flying alone or as a pair. To fly the Arcus, you need the relevant experience and a self-launcher checkout.

We adapt our fleet to the size and needs of the group. That is why we plan to add another DG-300 in 2026, giving newly qualified pilots an additional easy-to-fly single-seater in which to gain experience locally and beyond.
